I have been considering a forum for some time now. I receive many private messages through the chat facility, and so many are beyond my ability to give fair time and effort to, and so often they are very interesting connections or stories or requests that I am unable to fulfil. There will be of course almost always some out there that can help, or does know the answer, and many times I google for information the best sources are forums. To that end, I hope that those using this site will engage in this project and help build up a knowledge base of Royal Marines History that will be useful to the real historians, the enthusiastic amateur like myself and those family members and friends who are trying to discover something about a relative or ancestor.
